Is your website design only as good as it’s photography?

We’ve all been there.

You spend hours creating a pixel perfect mockup using gorgeous stock photography to compliment your clean design. It gets approved by your client straight away, everything is going great!

Then the client sends you the images they absolutely have to use on their website and they’re dark, blurry and pixellated. What do you do? The client doesn’t want to use stock images and doesn’t want to pay a photographer for professional images.

So you use what you have been given and your once beautiful design turns into something completely different to what you had imagined.

In my opinion, bad imagery will ruin your website – no matter how good the design or how fast it loads, if the images aren’t good, the website isn’t good.

Humans are very visual people – as they saying goes “a picture tells a thousand words”. Imagery is the first thing a user will likely see when visiting a website – if the quality is poor or the images do not reflect the company then how can the user trust you can give them what they are looking for?

You only have a few seconds to make a good impression.
